One Day for ELA

Build vision for secondary-ELA-specific rigor and classroom culture!

In today’s kick-off sessions, we viewed video footage from the classroom of veteran ELA teacher Ashley Riggio.  Those videos — and happy hordes more of them — can be found at Teach For America’s One Day for ELA. That site also displays Ms. Riggio’s vision in her own words, as well as sample student writing and case studies that illuminate the progress of specific students throughout the 2011-2012 school year.

You can access this site from our very own TFA Delta ELA site, as follows:

  • Listed below “Building Vision” (link appears on the left-hand sidebar, as well as along the bottom of our website)
  • Listed below “On Teaching ELA” (which appears along the bottom of our website).

Wishing much concrete vision-building to you.
