The U.S. Department of Education has announced a new program called Innovative Approaches to Literacy, which will provide $28 million in grants to help low-income students gain access to up-to-date school library materials.
The window of opportunity for applying is short: The lengthy application must be completed by August 10, 2012.
Funding is expected to be distributed no later than September 2012.
